Police, on the direction of the SP, conducted raids at Jamuao village and arrested five persons including three women along with two counterfeit note machines, three ink, paper, gel pens, 3,000 fake notes and Rs 33,000 cash.

The SDPO said that the miscreants were operating in the area dealing in the fake note business for the last three months and had already circulated fake notes of the face value of worth about Rs 6 lakh in the market at about 70% commission and this was their second tender but due to alertness of police, their bid to print and circulate fake notes this time foiled. The SDPO said Devnti Devi is allegedly the mastermind of the gang and the others assisted her. The gang is linked with Pintu Singh of Patna and all the arrested persons confessed their involvement in printing of fake notes. They printed the fake notes so precisely that it was very much difficult to differentiate between original and fake notes.

He added the fake notes are mainly circulated in rural areas and also in Patna. Pintu Singh of Patna is expert in printing of fake notes and he had imparted training to Devanti Devi.

The SDPO revealed that Devanti Devi decoyed and looted valuables from innocent persons by promising to double their money or valuables and added Nagendra Singh is a quack.
