Ara : Police arrested Thakur Yadav along with his aide Sujit Yadav from village Kaushik Dularpur under Ara Muffasil police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on October 24, 2020, for allegedly threatening with dire consequences the candidate of Rashtrawadi Janlok Party (satya), Manji Sah, contesting from Barhara Assembly Constituency (AC).
Police also recovered a countrymade pistol and liver cartridges from his possession. A named FIR has been lodged with Ara Muffasil police station against the two arrested criminals under Arms Act. Thakur Yadav was wanted in seven criminal cases including murder and had come out of jail on bail about three months back
Thakur Yadav had asked Manji Sah to withdraw from the fray in favour of a candidate and threatened him with dire consequences if he did not yield to his dictate. He had allegedly also demanded Rs 5 lakh from Manji.
SHO, Ara Muffasil police station, said that Thakur Yadav was dictating criminal activities from Ranchi in Jharkhand. After threatening call made to Manji Sah, police, on the direction of Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai, arrestedĀ history-sheeter Thakur Yadav and on his revelation arrested Sujit Yadav from Kaushik Dularpur along with a countrymade pistol and live cartridges.
It may be mentioned here that Manji Sah of village Sohara under Krishnagarh police station received a call from an unknown number of October 19, 2020. The caller identified himself as Thakur Yadav and said that he was a dreaded criminal calling from Beur Jail. HeĀ also asked Manji to withdraw from the contest in favour of another candidate. After some time, he said that he is a dreaded criminal calling from Saraiya and demanded Rs 5 lakh as rangdari from Manji asking him to reach a school campus with the cash.
