Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, have arrested two contract killers in connection with murder of a former Mukhia of Bimawa panchayat under Jagdishpur police station Gaya Nath Yadav. Police recovered a countrymade pistol, a live cartridge, and a mobile phone from their possession.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Prince Kumar Singh alias Prince Yadav of village Mathiapur under Chandi police station and Pintu Kumar of Bimawa Mathia village under Jagdishpur police station. Police on August 30, 2021, sent them to jail after interrogation. Old enmity is said to be the cause behind the incident.

Bhojpur SP Vinay Tiwari said that motorcycle borne some armed miscreants had shot dead a former Mukhia of Bimwa panchayat and resident of Harnahi village under Jagdishpur police station Gaya Nath Yadav near village Narayanpur under Jagdishpur police station on Ara-Mohania main road on August 25, 2021, when he was returning home on a motorcycle after distributing invitation cards of his mother’s death anniversary. An FIR was lodged with police against five persons including Ajay Yadav of English village under Charpokhari police station in this connection.

The SP further said that a police team under Jagdishpur SDPO Shyam Kishore Ranjan that started investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the police team arrested Prince Kumar Singh from near Asani Bridge with a loaded countrymade pistol. Prince Kumar Singh narrated all the conspiracy and on his revelation,  police arrested Pintu Kumar Singh from Vimwa village. The SP added that police are conducting raids to arrest five more miscreants in this regard. The arrested miscreants confessed that they were contract killers and killed the former Mukhia on contract.

The SP stated that the former Mukhia used to lend money on interest and an LJP leader Prem Chand Yadav was shot at and injured in the month of March this year over a money lending dispute but he had not lodged any FIR. The SP added that Prem Chan Yadav is also being implicated in the case. He said that a named FIR has been lodged against Prince Kumar Singh under the Arms Act too.
