Bhojpur NSUI chief & friend shot at and injured at Ara

Ara : Two bike borne armed miscreants shot at and injured Bhojpur District President, National Students Union of India (NSUI), Manish Singh, and his friend and injured them on August 18, 2019, near District Magistrate’s residence under Nawada police station, Ara. The injured were admitted to a private clinic in Mahavir Tola, Ara. Land dispute is said to be the cause behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged with Nawada police station in this connection.

SHO, Nawada police station, said that the district President, NSUI,, Manish Singh alias Duldul along with his friends : Appu Singh and Om Singh, was on way to Nawada police station on August 18. When they reached near the residence of Bhojpur DM, two bike borne miscreants intercepted them and pumped three bullets into the bodies of Manish Singh and Appu Singh and escaped.  Om Singh escaped unhurt.

The locals rushed them to a Private Clinic at Mahavir Tola. The doctor referred one of the injured Appu Singh to Patan Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition. The doctor operated upon Manish Singh alias Duldul and took out bullets from his body. Manish Singh is a resident of village Mathawalia under Ara Muffassil police station and at present living near Shaheed Bhawan at Ara while Appu Singh is a resident of village Pipara under Dhobaha police outpost and he lives in Babu Bazaar area at Ara.

Manish Singh said that he was living under constant fear of murder for the last two days and had given an application for security in the Nawada police station. He said that he was going to the Nawada police station on Sunday to take a copy of his application and the miscreants shot him and his friend at and injured them on way to the Nawada police station.

Dr Vikas Singh said that he had taken out bullets from the body first time and added that even five minute late might have proved fatal for Appu Singh.

Bhojpur SP Shushil Kumar visited the private clinic to get first hand information of the incident and had dialogue with the family members of the injured there. Police have reportedly taken two persons under their custody for interrogation.
