Ara : Bhojpuri police recovered a girl from Kolkata, Bengal, on April 27, 2017, and brought her to Ara and produced her before a court on April 28 and got her statement recorded under section 164 CrPC. Later, police brought her to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination. The girl alleged that a youth had kidnapped her and took her to Kolkata.
The girl was kidnapped from her village Brahmpur Dalit Tola under Azimabad police station on April 12, 2017, when she had gone to attend call of nature and her father had lodged a named FIR against three persons of the village with Azimabad police station in this connection.
The girl said that Chandan Chandravanshi of her village kidnapped her for marrying her and took her to Howrah. The Bengal police arrested her as Chandan Chandravanshi, seeing the police, escaped from the scene. The Bengal police kept her at the Remand Home in Kolkata.
SHO, Azimabad police station, Raju Kumar said that the Bengal police informed him about the recovery of the girl and so a Sub-Inspector, N K Yadav, was sent to Kolkata to bring her to Ara.
