Ara : The controversy triggered by a selfie of a liquor mafia Prakash Kumar Singh alias Rakesh Singh with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is still raging forcing the Janata Dal (U) Bhojpur district president Ashok Kumar Sharma to resign from his post.
In a letter, addressed to State JD(U) President Bashishth Narayan Singh, MP, Sharma took moral responsibility for the election of a liquor mafia Prakash Kumar Singh alias Rakesh Singh to the post of Charpokhari block president of the party. He said that he was not aware of the fact that Prakash was a named accused in the FIR lodged in connection with December 2012 Hooch tragedy at Ara in which around 45 persons had died and added that he knew that he worked as broker in sale and purchase of land.
Prakash Kumar Singh alias Rakesh Singh’s name figured once again in connection with the death of four persons at Danwar village under Kachhwa police station in Rohtas district after consuming spurious liquor recently and he was already a named accused in the Ara Hooch tragedy in 2012. After his name figured in the Danwar liquor incident, he was dismissed from the post of the block president of the party and also expelled from the party. Prakash is reportdly a close relative of Harendra Singh whom CM Nitish Kumar had recently honoured for returning the dowry amount taken for the marriage of his son during which he (Prakash) had taken a selfie with the CM.
