Ara : Bhojpur district administration has made a new arrangement to get rid of perennial traffic jam on Koelwar bridge. It will come into force from March 8, 2018. Heavy vehicles like buses, trucks and others from Patna passing through Koelwar bridge will pass through Chandi Chowk via Sakadi or Jamira route before entering Ara, the headquarters of Bhojpur district.

Chhapra bound vehicles from Patna will pass through Chandi Chowk route and join Chhapra – Ara road after passing through Koelwar Block road or Koelwar police station road. Patna bounds vehicle from Chhapra will pass through the main route avoiding the Zila Parishad road but for going to Ara, they will have to follow the Chandi Chowk route.

SDO, Ara, Arun Prakash, said that there will be no change in route for small vehicles or the vehicles using small lane of Koelwar bridge. He said that seven check- posts including those at Chandi Chowk, Babura Road, Koelwar Market, Kapildeo Road, Koelwar police station crossing have been set up and the vehicles from Ara to Patna will be stopped at Kapildeo Road check- post and will be allowed to proceed further after the routes are cleared. The SDO said that he has requested Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar to make available 75 police personnel for successful implementation of new traffic arrangement.
