Bhojpur DDC withholds of salary of BDOs of 5 blocks

Ara : Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Bhojpur, Shubham Shubhankar, on March 7, 2019, served show notices and withheld salary of five Block Development Officers (BDOs) for dereliction of duty in providing benefits of Lohia Swachchh Bihar Abhiyan to the beneficiaries concerned.

The DDC had on March 6, 2019, held a meeting to review the implementation of Lohia Swachchh Bihar Abhiyan and found that beneficiaries had been paid less than 40 percent of the sanctioned amount so far under Ara, Koelwar, Gadhani, Shahpur, and Piro blocks of Bhojpur district. Taking serious note of it, the DDC served show cause notices on the BDOs of these blocks and also withheld their salary.

The DDC also directed the BDOs of Jagdishpur, Shahpur, Agiao, Piro, Tarari, Udwantnagar, Ara, Barhara, Bihia, Koelwar, and Gadhani to act on the pending applications without delay and pay the encouragement amount to the beneficiaries within 24 hours. The DDC also cut one day salary of the coordinators of all the blocks except Udwantnagar and Piro blocks for their failure to update the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
