Ara : Civil Surgeon (CS), Bhojpur, on August 3, 2019, lodged a named FIR against two quacks with Ara Town police station on allegedly running private clinics in Mahavir Tola locality on fake degree.
SHO, Ara Town police station, said that one Abhimanyu Kumar Singh had e-mailed Bhojpur District Magistrate alleging that Dr Dinesh Kumar Singh and his wife Dr Bhagwati Kumari were running illegal private clinics at Mahavir Tola under Ara Town police station on fake degrees and demanded a probe into the matter.
On his request, the DM and the Public Grievance Cell Officer asked the then Civil Surgeon to take appropriate action against the two doctors after holding an inquiry. The then Civil Surgeon Dr Jagdish Singh formed a three- member committee on December 22, 2018, under the Superintendent, Ara Sadar Hospital, to inquire into the matter.
The Superintendent submitted his report with the Xerox copies of all the degrees of the doctor duo before the Civil Surgeon the same day stating that the degrees, boards and prescriptions did not tally and also recommended FIR against them. A copy of the inquiry report was also given to the Public Grievance Cell Officer who directed for lodging a named FIR against both the doctors on February 14, 2019.
On the direction of the Public Grievance Cell Officer, the Civil Surgeon had lodged a complaint with Ara Town Police Station seeking lodging of an FIR on March 6, 2019, but the FIR was not registered due to dilly dallying attitude of the police officers concerned. After that the then CS Dr Jagdish Singh and the then DM Sanjeev Kumar were transferred. After much pressure, the FIR was lodged by Ara Town police station on August 3.
