Ara : Bhojpur Bandh called in protest against the three new farm laws evoked mixed response in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on December 8, 2020. Activists of the CPI(ML) and RJD took out processions from different places in the district and blocked roads at Patel Bus Stand, Dhobighatawa, Eastern railway crossing, Ara, Isadhi, Nayaka Tola Mor in Jagdishpur, Ara-Patna, Ara-Buxar, Ara-Sasaram, Ara-Mohania and other places paralysing movement of vehicles since morning. They burnt tyres on road and also raised slogans against the central government and PM Narendra Modi. As a result people had to face a lot of problems during marriage season.

The bandh supporters marhced through the main thoroughfares of Ara town, headquarters of Bhojpur District, and forced the traders, businessmen to down their shutters. They also compelled the school owners and coaching centres to close their institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI (ML) MLA from Agiaon Manoj Manzil said that his party had been protesting the Agriculture Law 2020  and proposed Electricity Bill 2020 of the Central government. He supported the agitation of the farmers protesting the agricultural laws 2020 and alleged that PM Narendra Modi had pledged public properties in the hands of Ambani and Adani and now he has enacted agriculture laws to mortgage the farm land,
