Patna : World Number 110 in ATP rankings released on March 5, 2018, Yuki Bhambri, 25, India, entered the second round of Indian Wells Masters 1000 tennis tournament in USA on March 9, 2018, defeating World Number 101 Nicolas Mahut, 36, France. Bhambri, who came through qualifiers, defeated Mahut 7-5, 6-3 in 101 minutes notching up his first win an ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
Bhambri was down in both the sets suffering three breaks of service but recovered well to win the match. Bhambri will now play World Number 12 and Number 9 seed Lucas Pouille, France. Bhambri had beaten Ramkumar Ramnathan, 23, India, in the final qualifying round. World Number 1 Roger Federer, 36, Switzerland, is the top seed in the tournament
