Bhagalpur. The death toll in Bhagalpur blast on March 3, 2022, late night, increased to 14 on March 4,2022, while the 10 injured are under treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital (JLNMCH), Bhagalpur.
The powerful blast at a double storey building near Yatimkhana in Kajwalichak area under Tatarpur police station (PS) completely rocked the buildings besides damaging two other buildings. One Yusuf, who lives in the area, alleged that bombs were being made in the building.crackers
Bihar DGP S K Singhal while addressing a presser at Patna said that the SHO, Tatarpur PS, Sanjay Kumar, had been placed under suspension following the blast for dereliction of duty.
The DGP said that crackers were being manufactured at the said house for years. He said the the name of the house owner is Mohd. Azad. Earlier, Leelawati Devi owned the building. A blast had rocked the same building in 2002 also.
The DGP said that crackers were being manufactured in all the the buildings which were damaged in the March 3 night blast. Police are trying to find out the source of supply of explosive.
