Bhabhua : Kaimur district administration on December 28, 2017, sealed a medical store located on the campus of Bhabhua Sadar Hospital on a complaint that expired and spurious medicine were stored at the medical store of the hospital.

Soon after getting information about it, the Kaimur District Magistrate (DM) received information that huge quantity of  spurious and expired medicine are kept in the medical store of Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, ordered SDM Lalan Prasad and SDPO Ajay Prasad to inquire into the matter. Both the officials along with Civil Surgeon Dr Nandeshwar Prasad, Deputy Superintendent (DS), Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, Dr Vinod Kumar and DPM Dr Vivek Kumar inquired into the matter also searched the medical store of the hospital.

During inquiry, they found that huge quantity of spurious and expired medicine are kept in the medical store of the hospital. The SDM, after taking out non-expired medicines, sealed the medical store. All the medicines had expired in 2015, 2016 and February 2017.

Kaimur DM Rajeshwar Prasad said an inquiry team has been constituted under SDM Lalan Prasad. The inquiry team will submit its report after thorough investigation. An FIR will be lodged and departmental action will be taken against those found responsible for it.

DS, Bhabhua Sadar Hospital, Dr Vinod Kumar had written to Civil Surgeon, Kaimur, apprising him of storage of spurious and expired medicine in the medical store of the hospital. He had also locked the medical store so that no one could remove the spurious and expired medicines from the medical store.
