Beur jail inmates install Puja kalash

Patna: High security Beur Central Jail is reverberating with the slokas of Durga Saptshadi as 76 undertrial prisoners are observing fast during the navratra. The jail administration has made elaborate arrangements for the prisoners, who have also installed `kalash’ for the puja.
Usha Sinha, former MLA and wife of former Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB)l chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad, is also observing pooja from jail. She is observing fast and is eating fruits only. Altogether 53 male and 23 female undertrials are observing fast this year and those observing navratra remain engaged in their religious activities. The
prisoners not doing puja help those prisoners observing fast. During evening, the inmates sing bhajans.  According to jail officials, separate food are being prepared for the devotees inside the jail.
