Berrettini, Kukushkin, Sousa enter Wimbledon 4th round

Patna : World No 20 and 17th seed Matteo Berrettini, 23, Italy, World No 58 Mikhail Kukushkin, 31, Kazakhstan, and World No 69 Joao Sousa, 30, Portugal, entered the 4th round of Wimbledon Championships, London, on July67, 2019.

Berrettini beat World No 24 Diego Schwartzman, 26, Argentina, in a five-set thriller 6-7, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 in the third round at All England Club on July 6, 2019, evening. Berrettini fired 22 Aces in the match to just 2 by Schwartzman. Both the players won 2 break points each. The Italian won 5 games in a row to 3 by Schwartzman. The Italian won 137 service points to 124 by the Argentine. Berrettini will face eight time champion and 2nd seed Roger Federer, Switzerland, in the Round of 16 on July 8, 2019.

Kukushkin beat World No 33 Jan-Lennard Struff, 29, Grermany, in four-sets 6-3, 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 in the 3rd round. Struff though hammered 26 Aces in the match to 7 by Kukushkin. Kukushkin won 3 break points to 2 by Struff. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Kukushkin will face World No 7 Kei Nishikori, Japan, in the 4th round on July 8. Kukushkin had defeated World No 12 John Isner, USA, in the 2nd round

Sousa beat World No 61 Daniel Evans, 29, UK, in a five-set encounter 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 in the third round. Both the players served 5 Aces each in the match. Evans committed 7 double faults to 1 by Sousa. Sousa won 8 break points to 7 by Evans. Sousa won 108 service points to 92 by his British rival. Sousa will face World No 2 and 3rd seed Rafael Nadal in the 4th round on July 8.  Sousa had stunned World No 18 and 2017 finalist Marin Cilic in the 4th round.
