Begusarai man killed in Saharsa

Saharsa : Shambhu Poddar, a middleage man who worked for a businessman of Laxminia in Begusarai district, Vinod Agarwal, was strangled to death by some unidentified criminals on June 9, 2017, night. The villagers saw the body lying near Chandika Petrol Pump on Sonbersa Raj – Maheshkhunt road on NH 107 under Sonbersa Raj police station in Saharsa district on June 10.

The identity of the deceased on the basis of his Aadhar Card and bank Pass-book found in a bag lying near the body. Shambhu was staying at Sonbersa Raj market for the past one week to purchase maize, the villagers said adding he was seen purchasing maize even on June 9. Shambhu was a resident of Barbighi Husaina ward number 9 under Laxminia police station in Begusarai district. He was son of Jagdev Poddar.

Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for post-mortem and informed the family members about the murder of Shambhu. SHO, Sonbersa Raj police station, Mohd Izhar Alam, said that Shambhu had been killed probably due to his illicit relationship with a woman. Police are investigating into the incident, the SHO said.
