Patna: With a view to providing a platform to StartUps, conventional businesses, new and existing ventures in the state, Bihar Entrepreneurs Association (BEA) is all set to hold Bihar Entrepreneurship Summit (BES) 2019 at Gyan Bhawan, Patna, on February 22 & 23, 2019. It will be jointly hosted with Asia Africa Development Council (ADCO) and will coincide with Bihar Pravasi Sammelan this time, said BEA Secretary General Abhishek Singh.
The BES is a carnival of entrepreneurs acting as a crucible for idea sharing by young entrepreneurs besides showcasing innovation at the expo being held simultaneously, Singh added. This is to bring on one platform investors, industrialists and scientists for effective development of business sector and opportunities for industry-setup in Bihar.
The plan is to place the entrepreneur and the social-economic ecosystem at the heart of debate of the policymakers thereby promoting the role of innovation, job creation and growth of state as a whole. Sharing the same opinion, Bihar Pravasi Sammelan joins in Bihar Entrepreneurship Summit for the first time.
Zila Udyami Samman : Promoting the existing conventional businesses across the state, the BEA for the first time has come up with a plan to reward 10 business persons from each of the 38 districts of Bihar. The plan is to engage them with sector specific social media groups thereby empowering them with latest information. This will not just help them expand their existing businesses in different territorial limits but will also guide them for better financial linkage with banks and investors. That apart, the 27 global partners of BEA and the ADCO’s network over a thousand Non Resident Biharis will also help them in securing new and efficient technologies.
Now 18,000 strong, the BEA was founded by returning Bihari migrants back in 2011 working passionately and voluntarily to provide a platform to entrepreneurs. The BEA was in September last invited by Israel government for sharing ideas for betterment of innovation and industries.
It was at the second Bihar Entrepreneurship Summit that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar laid down the foundation of StartUp Bihar by constituting Bihar StartUp committee. Heeding to the demands of BEA, Bihar CM agreed to set up state venture capital fund of Rs 500 crore in 2015.
