Motihari : Jitendra Kumar, BDO, Tetariya Block and Sector incharge of 177 number booth at Nonimal Middle School under Pakadi
panchayat in East Champaran District in North Bihar, on November 15, 2021, night, lodged a case with Rajepur police station (PS) against 42 named persons including Sheo Ji Rai, a former MLA from Madhuban, and his son Vipul Kumar Yadav, outgoing Pramukh of Mehasi Block Panchayat Samiti, and 150 others for allegedly attacking DM Shirshat Kapil Ashok; SDM, Pakari Dayal, Kumar Ravindra; Police ASI Anuj Kumar; and four policemen at Nonimal booth the same day during panchayat election. Sunil Kumar Singh, SDPO Pakari Dayal, said that police are conducting raids to nab the accused, who have fled the villages.
Vipul Kumar Yadav was among the candidates for the post of Member, Panchayat Samiti, and he and his father were present at 177 Number booth. Two of his supporters were taking photo shots of the poll. Meanwhile, East Champaran DM and team of officials reached the booth and the two persons taking photos were arrested by police. Former MLA Sheo Ji Rai and his son Vipul Kumar Yadav demanded release of the two arrested persons. Soon, their supporters attacked police.
BDO, Tetariya Bblock, in his FIR, has alleged that the supporters attacked the officers and police pelting them with stones
and bricks in which DM, SDM, ASI, and 4 policemen were injured. Four injured policemen were admitted to Motihari Sadar
Hospital. SDM Kumar Ravindra was also injured in stone pelting but has been discharged from hospital after first aid.
