Patna : World No 42 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 29, Georgia, upset 5th seed & World No 13 Roberto Bautista Agut, 32, Spain, in final to lift the singles title at ATP Qatar ExxonMobil Open at Doha, Qatar, on March 13, 2021, night.
Basilashvili, who had stunned 2nd seed Roger Federer, 39, Switzerland, in quarter-finals, defeated Agut in straight sets 7-6, 6-2 in 1hr 28 minutes in final to win the singles title and 250 Rankings points. Agut, who had defeated top seed & World No 4 Dominic Thiem, 27, Austria, the reigning US Open champion, in QFs, bagged 150 Rankings points.
