Patna : French Open Champion Ashleigh Barty (7,547 points), Australia, and Karolina Pliskova (5,940 points), Czech Republic, remain World No 1 and World No 2 respectively in WTA rankings released on January 13,2020, but Naomi Osaka ( 5,496 points), Japan, has jumped one place to be ranked World No 3 after reaching semi-finals at Brisbane International  last week adding 185 points to her tally. Pliskova had won Brisbane International title last week.

Wimbledon Champion Simona Halep (5,461 points), Romania, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 4. Elina Svitolina, Ukraine), remains World No 5 with 5,075 points while US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu, Canada, is static at World No 6 with 4,935 points. But, Belinda Bencic, Switzerland, has jumped 1 position and is ranked World No 7 with 4,605 points. But, two time former Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova, Czech Republic, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 8 with 4,436 points though she too had reached SFs at Brisbane International.

Winner of 23 Grand Slam titles Sereana Williams, USA, has jumped 1 place to be ranked World No 9 with 4,215 points after winning Auckland Open title last week getting 280 rankings points. Kiki Berten, Netherlands, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 10 with 4,165 points. Madison Keys, USA, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 11 after reaching the final of Brisbane International gaining 305 rankings points.

Jessica Pegula, USA, has jumped 18 places to be ranked World No 64 with 910 points after reaching the final of Auckland Open last week gaining 180 points. Ekaterina Alexandrova, Russia, has jumped 8 places and ranked World No 26 with 1,645 points after winning the Shenzhen Open title in China last week getting 280 points. Elena Rybakina, Kazakhstan, has jumped 6 places to be ranked World No 30 with 1,551 points after reaching the final of Shenzhen Open last week getting 180 points. Caroline Wozniacki, Denmark, has jumped 4 places to be ranked World No 35 with 1,463 points.

India No 1 Ankita Raina has jumped 3 places to be ranked World No 175 with 347 points after reaching semi-finals of an ITF tournament in Australia last week gaining 31 points. Rutuja Bhosale, India, has jumped 3 place and is ranked World No 462 with 87 points.  Karman Kaur Thandi, India, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 569 with 56 points. Sojanya Bavisetti, India, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 618 with 47 points.
