Patna : Top seed and World No 1 Ashleighley Barty, 24, Australia, 22nd seed Jennifer Brady, 25, USA, 25th seed Karolina Muchova, 24, Czech Republic, and World No 61  Jessica Pegula, 26, USA, advanced to the quarter-finals of Australian Open (AO) 2021 on February 15, 2021.

Barty, the 2019 French Open champion,  beat World No 57 Shelby Rogers, 28, USA, in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 in 4th round to enter the QFs. Barty won 3 break points in the match to 1 by Rogers. The Australian also won 5 games in a row during the match to 3 by the America.  Barty, in all, 83 points in gthe match to 51 by Rogers. Both the players fired 5 Aces each in the match. Barty, the 2020 AO semi-finalist,  will face Karolina Muchova in QFs on February 17, 2021.

World No 27 Karolina Muchova upset 18th seed Elise Mertens, 25, Belgium, in straight sets 7-6, 7-5 in 4th round. Mjuchova won 5 break points during the match to 4 by Muchova. She fired 4 Aces in the match to 2 by Mertens. Both the players won 4 games each in a row in the match. Muchova, in all, won 78 points to 68 by Mertens.

World No 24 Jennifer Brady, USA, beat 28th seed Donna Vekic, 24, Croatia, 6-1, 7-5 in 4th round. Brady won 4 break points in the match to 1 by Vekic. The American won 5 games in a row during the match to 2 by Vekic. Brady fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by Vekic. Brady, in all, won 75 points during the match to 52 by Vekic.

World No 61 Jessica Pegula stunned 5th seed Elina Svitolina, 26, Ukraine, in three-sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in 4th round. Both the players fired 4 Aces each in the match. Pegula won 4 break points to 3 by Svitolina. Pegula won 3 games in a row in the match to 4 by Svitolina. The American, in all, won 91 points during the match to 87 by the Ukrainian, the AO quarter-finalist in 2018 & 2019 and Wimbledon and US Open semi-finalist in 2019. Pegula will face Brady in QFs on February 17, 2021.
