Jehanabad : Alok Chandra, a Bank of Baroda (BOB) officer, was shot dead on May 21, 2018, morning by three bike-borne criminals near village Nehalpur under Parasbigha police station in Jehanabad district.

Jehanabad SP Manish, a 2013 batch IPS officer, while confirming the murder of Alok Chandra said that the BOB officer was returning from Nawada on his bike and was en route Arwal, where he was posted. The SP said that Alok Chandra, who was in his mid-thirties,  lived at Arwal.

The miscreants intercepted Alok Chandra’s bike near Nehalpur diversion under  Parasbigaha police station and fired three round on him killing him on the spot. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, police said. The body was sent to Sadar hospital, Jehanabad,  for post-mortem. No one has been arrested in this connection so far.

Alok Chandra was Manager in Arlwar branch of Bank of Baroda and was a native of village Kutri in Nawada district.
