Ara : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a Bank employee near Nonar Katahawa Bridge on Piro-Sedaha main road under Tarari police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on January 4, 2022, evening, when he was returning to Bandhan Bank at Piro after cash collection.

Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital where the post-mortem was performed on on January 4, 2022, late night.. Police also recovered his motorcycle about 20 feet away from the body, its key, two mobile phones, PAN card, Adhar Card, Driving License, Rs 45,000 cash, and other papers from the spot.

The deceased was identified as Vijay Prasad, 26, son of Bhola Prasad of village Pokhrahan under Brahmpur PS in neighbouring Buxar District and was posted at Bandhan Bank, Piro, in Bhojpur District for the last 11 months. He was married to Priti Kumari of Belwania under Bihia PS in Bhojpur District on December 13, 2020. His wife is posted in Bhagalpur in Home (police) Department and is pregnant.

Piro DSP Rahul Singh said that Vijay Prasad was living in his newly constructed house at Railway Gate in Raghunathpur Ward No 1 in Buxar District for the last 10 years and was posted as RO in Bandhan Bank at Piro. His laptop was missing. The DSP confirmed that he was shot dead as the post-mortem report showed. He said that Vijay Prasad had gone to Tarari for cash collection on January 4, 2022, and when he was returning to his bank after day long collection in the evening, some armed miscreants shot him dead and escaped with his laptop and bag. The villagers informed police about the incident and established his identification with his Identity Card.
