Patna : 21st Seed Paula badosa, 23, Spain, beat 27th seed Victoria Azarenka, 32, Belarus, in a three-set thriller in final lasting 3hrs 04 minutes on October 18, 2021, early morning, to win the women’s singles title at Indian Wells at Indian Wells, California, USA, her first major title. Badosa defeated Azarebka, a two-time former Australian Open Champion, 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 in final to the win the singles title.
Azarenka though won 7 break points during the match to 5 by the Spaniard. The Belarusian also won 3 games in a row during the match to 2 by Badosa.
