Patna : Second seed Lee Zii Jia, Malaysia, and 4th seed Kidambi Srikanth, India, entered the semi-finals of Yonex Swiss Open 2021, an HSBCBWF World Tour Super 300 Badminton tournament, at St Jakobshalle Basel, Basel, Switzerland, on March 5, 2021. Top seed Viktor Axelsen, Denmark,  also reached the SFs of the event. But, Ajay Jayaram, India, lost in the QFs.

Lee Zii Jia beat 5th seed B Sai Praneeth, India, in straight games 21-14, 21-17 in 45 minutes in quarter-finals. Lee won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by Praneeth. The Malaysian won 5 consecutive points during the match to 3 by the India. Lee now leads Praneeth 2-0 Head to Head.

Srikanth, the World No 13, beat 6th seed Kantaphon Wangcharoen, Thailand, the World No 18, in straight games 21-19, 21-15 in 44 minutes in quarter-finals. Srikanth won 42 rallies in the match to 34 by Kantaphon. The Indian won 7 consecutive points during the match to 5 by Kantaphon. The two players are now level at 1-1 Head to Head.

Axelsen beat 7th seed Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, Indonesia, 21-17, 21-12 in QFs in 37 minutes.  Axelsen now leads Shesar 2-0 Head to Head.
