Patna : Second seed Viktor Axelsen, 26, Denmark, beat top seed Chou Tien Chen, 30, Taiwan, in straight games in final to lift the men’s singles title at Yonex All England Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 Badminton Tournament, at Arena Birmingham, Birmingham, England, on March 15, 2020, evening. This is 2017 World Champion Axelsen’s maiden All England Open title. He had lost to World No 1 Kento Momota, Japan, in 2019 Final.

World No 7 Axelsen beat World No 2 Chou Tien Chen 21-13, 21-14 in 46 minutes in Final. Axelsen won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by Chou Tien Chen. The Dane won 5 consecutive points to 3 by Chou. Axelsen now leads Chou Tien Chen 10-2 Head to Head.

Axelsen got 12,000 BWF Rankings Points plus cash prize while Chou got 10,200 Rankings Points besides the cash prize. World No 4 Anders Antonsen, 22, Denmark, and World No 13 Lee Zii Jia, 21 Malaysia, got 8,400 Rankings points each besides the cash prize for reaching the semi-finals.
