Ara : An autorickshaw driver Bijay Pandey, son of Satyanarayan Pandey, was beaten to death and his elder brother Ajay Pandey was thrashed and injured by some anti-social elements at village Banahi under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district on January 6, 2019, night, when they objected to bonfire outside their farmyard. The miscreants also set ablaze huts of the deceased.
Police brought the body over to the Sadar Hospital, Ara, for postmortem and admitted the injured there but the doctors referred him Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his serious condition. A named FIR has been lodged with Shahpur police station against Birendra Sharma and Pulla Sharma on the statement of Ajay Pandey but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
Ajay Pandey said at the Sadar Hospital that Birendra Sharma and his son Pula Sharma were arranging for bonfire outside their farmyard and when he and his brother Bijay Pandey objected to it, Birendra Sharma and Pulla Sharma attacked and thrashed them with iron road and traditional weapons. Ajay Pandey alleged that the accused were trying to capture their land and when they failed, they thrashed and killed his brother and injured him.
