Patna : Australia drubbed India by 85 runs in the final at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, on March 8, 2020, to retain the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, their 5th championships title. Chasing a target of 185 runs, India were all out for just 99 runs in 19.1 overs with Deepti Sharma scoring 33 runs, Deda Krishnamurthy 19, and Richa Ghosh 18. India lost their last four wickets for just 11 runs.

Earlier electing to bat after winning the toss, defending champion Australia scored 184/4 in 20 overs with opener Alyssa Healy scoring 75. Her opening partner Beth Mooney remained unbeaten on 78. Captain Meg Lanning scored 16 runs.
