Patna : Australia defeated defending champion West Indises (WI) by 8 wickets in a Group 1 match of ICC T20 World Cup at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on November 6, 2021, evening, as opener David Warner scored an unbeaten 89 in 56 balls hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh scored 53 runs in 32 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Chasing a target of 158 runs, Australia scored 161/2 in 16.2 overs. Captain Aaron Finch (opener ) fell to spinner Akeal Hosein for 9 runs making it 33/1. March fell to Chris Gayle making it 157/2.
