Patna : Australia defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 7 wickets in the one-off T20I at Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery, Abu Dhabi, on October 22, 2018, riding on an unbeaten 53 ball 68 with 8 fours by opener D Arcy Short. Short’s opening partner Aaron Finch was out for just 1 run while Chris Lynn scored 20 in 13 ball with 4 fours. Both Finch and Lynn fell to Amir Hayat. Glen Maxwell made 18 while Bem McDermott remained unbeaten on 10. Chasing a target of 118, Australia scored 119/3 in 16.1 over.
Earlier opting to bat after winning the toss, UAE scored 117/6 in 20 overs with Shaiman Anwar scoring 41 with 3 fours and 2 sixes while Mohammad Naveed remained not out on 27 in 13 ball with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Rameez Sahzad made 22.
For Australia, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Billy Stanlake took two wickets each while Andrew Tye took one wicket. One UAE batsman was run out.
