Patna : Australia defeated New Zealand (NZ) by 50 runs in the 4th T20I at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, NZ, on March 5, 2021, to level the five-match series 2-2 as opener Aaron Finch (captain) scored an unbeaten 79 in 55 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes while all-rounder Glenn Maxwell scored 18 in 9 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Marcus Stoinis scored 19 in 13 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Finch was named Player Of The Match.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Australia scored 156/6 in 20 overs and then bundled out NZ for just 106 in 18.5 overs with fast medium bowler Kane Richardson taking 3/19 in 2.5 overs while spinners Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa took two wickets each.All -rounder Glenn Maxwell also took 2 wickets. For NZ, fast mediumĀ  bowler Kyle Jamieson top scored with 30 runs in 18 balls with 5 fours. Captain Kane Williamson scored 8 runs while opener Martin Guptill scored 7. Devon Conway scored 17 runs in 20 balls with 1 four.

NZ had won the first two matches of the series while Australia won the next two. The 5th T20I is scheduled for March 7, 2021.
