Australia beat India by 32 runs in 3rd ODI at Ranchi, Khawaja and Kohli hit tons

Patna : Australia defeated India by 32 runs in the 3rd ODI at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, Jharkhand, on March 8, 2019, night, with Openers Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch, captain, scoring 104 and 93 runs respectively adding 193 runs for the first wicket. It was Khawaja’s first ODI century. Khawaja was named Player of the Match. It was Khawaja’s first ODI ton. Glen Maxwell was run out for 47 while all-rounder Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten on 31.

India won the toss but opted to bowl. Batting first, Australia scored 313/5. Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav took 3/64.Khawaja was named Player of the Match.

Chasing a target of 314, India were all out for 281 in 48.2 overs with captain Virat Kohli scoring 123 in 95 balls with 16 fours and a six, his 41st ODI ton, Vijay Shankar 32,  Kedar Jadhav and wicketkeeper M S Dhoni 26 each and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja 24. Kohli added 88 runs with Jadhav for the 5th wicket. He also added 59 runs with Dhoni for the 4th wicket.

For Australia, Pat Cummins took 3/37 while Jhye Richardson took 3/37. Spiner Adam Zampa took 3/70 while Nathan Lyon took 1/57. India now lead the five-match ODI series 2-1.
