Patna : Australia defeated England by 120 runs in the second Ashes Test on the fifth day at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia, on December 6, 2017. Resuming at their overnight score of 176/4, England were all out for 233 runs in 84.2 overs.  Australia now lead the five-match Ashes series 2-o having won the first test at Brisbane.

The fifth wicket fell on 176 itself with Chris Woakes falling to Josh Hazlewood for 5 while the sixth wicket fell at the score of 177 with Captain Joe Root getting out to Hazlewood for 67, his overnight score. Wicketkeeper J Bairstow was out for 36 bowled by Mitchell star. For Australia, Mitchell Starc took 5/88, Hazlewood 2/49. N Lyon 2/ 45 and Pat Cummins 1/39.
