Patna : Australia were all out for 307 in 49 overs against Pakistan in the 17th match of ICC World Cup at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, on June 12, 2019, with openers David Warner and Aaron Finch (captain) adding 146 runs for the first wicket. Warner scored 107 in 111 balls hitting 11 fours and a six and Finch scoring 82 in 84 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Steven Smith and Glen Maxwell scored 10 and 20 runs respectively while Shaun Marsh made 23. Pakistan had won the toss and opted to bowl.

The Australian middle and lower order completely failed to tackle the Pakistan pace battery comprising Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Afridi. Mohammad Amir took 5/30 in 10 overs while Shaheen Afridi took 2/70 in 10 overs. Wahab Riaz took 1/44 in 8 overs while Hasan Ali took 1/67 in 10 overs. Spinner Mohammad Hafeez took 1/60 in 7 overs. Mohammad Amir took the wickets of Finch, Shaun Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Alex Carey (wk), and Mitchell Starc while Shaheen Afridi accounted for David Warner and Glen Maxwell.
