Patna : Australia were 80/4 in 37.1 overs in their first innings in 2nd Ashes Test against England at Lor’s, London, when the play was stopped due to rain on Day 3 on August 16, 2019, with Steven Smith, who had scored century in both the innings in the 1st Ashes Test, batting on 13 and Matthew Wade yet to score. Australia trail by 178 runs. England had scored 258 in their first innings.

Australia lost the wicket of opener David Warner with only 11 run on board. Warner fell to fast bowler Stuard Broad for 3. But, Usman Khawaja and opener Cameron Bancroft added 49 runs for the second wicket. Bancroft fell to fast bowler Jofra Archer for 13 in 66 balls with 1 four making it 60/2.  At the same score, Khawaja fell to Chris Wokaes for 36 in 56 balls hitting 4 fours. Tavid Head fell to Broad for 7 and it was 71/4.

For England, Stuard Broad took 2/26 in 13 overs while Archer took 1/18 in 13 overs. Woakes took 1/27 in 9 overs.
