Patna : Chasing a target of 462, Australia were 136/3 in 50 overs against Pakistan at stumps on day 4 of the first cricket test at Dubai Internation Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE, on October 10, 2018, with opener Usman Khwaja batting on 50 with 6 fours and Travis Head batting on 34 with 4 fours. Australia need to score another 326 runs on October 11 to win this test  or bat the entire day to draw the match.

Pakistan, who were 482 all out in their first innings, declared their second innings at 181/6 with opener Imam-ul-Haq scoring 48 runs, Haris Sohail 39, and Asad Shafiq 41. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 28 with a four and a six.

Australian openers Usman Khwaja and Aaron Finch added 87 runs for the first wicket. But, then lost three wickets at 87. Australia lost the wickets of Finch ( 49), Shaun Marsh (0), and Mitchel Marsh (0) when the team score was 87. Khwaja and Head have so far added 49 run for the 4th wicket.
