Patna : Australia were 103/2 in 43.5 overs in their second innings at stumps on day four in the fourth Ashes test against England at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, on December 29, 2017, with Captain Steve Smith batting on 25 in 67 balls and opener David Warner batting on 40 in 140 balls.

Earlier, England were all out for 491 in their first innings. England opener Alastair Cook remained unbeaten on 244. Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins took 4/117. Australia had scored 327 in their first innings. Australia lead the five-match Ashes series 3-0.
