Aurangabad: Aurangabad DM Kawal Tanuj ordered for lodging FIRs against 19 primary agriculture credit society (PACS) chairman under different blocks on Tuesday as they have not returned the milled rice to SFC.

Block cooperative officers (BCOs) have been directed to identify all defaulting PACS chairman and lodge FIR against them without any delay. The DM was unhappy two days vack over slackness of district cooperative officer (DCO) as despite his directive the DCO was not showing seriousness in lodging FIRs against the defaulting PACS Chairmen.The DM has threatened to take punitive against him if he further delays action against them.

According to cooperative depatment sources, an FIR has been lodged against Tole, Bajar, Verma, Khaira, Bhopatpur, Jankope PACS chairman who did not return rice to SFC despite repeated instruction from the officials concerned. It may be mentioned here that the district has earned bad reputation due non -retun of rice to SFC. In fact, the paddy procurement has also been under shadow in the district because of tussle between PACS and SFC.

Apart from the defaulting PACS chairmen five BCOs have also been found negligent in duty. Nodal officer of Paddy Procurement Ramanugrah Narayan Singh said that show cause notices had slapped on Kutumba, Madanpur, Nabinagar, Obra and Rafiganj BCOs asking them to explain their position. Officials engaged in paddy procurement said that some PACS chairmen were allegedly involved in sell of rice in black market.

SDPO (sadar) PN Sahu said that after lodging of FIRs police would conduct inquiry into the matter and legal action would be taken in the light of findings of the inquiry. The DM reiterated his commitment to take action against defaulting PACS chairmen.PACs Chairman  had enough time to return CMR rice to SFC but they failed to do so, he said.
