Patna: NDA on Saturday claimed that compared to BJP ruled Gujarat, there had been huge increase in incidents of atrocities on dalits in Bihar in Grand Alliance rule in last one year. Senior NDA leaders on November 19 released the “failure card” of Nitish Kumar led government and said Nitish had been befooling people over certain cases of dalit atrocity in Gujarat but in Bihar there had been 7,874 cases of dalit atrocity compared to 1,052 in Gujarat in 2015. The state government is silent on taking action against the accused involved in incidents atrocity on dalit, they alleged.
The NDA leaders said the state government did not take initiative for promoting higher education among dalit students and reduced the scholarship amount for them. They recalled in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Muzaffarpur, a dalit student was brutally assaulted, houses of dalits were set afire at Makhdumpur in Jehanabad and Kusheshwarnath in Darbhanga district. A dalit woman was gaentngraped and killed in Kaimur and atrocity were committed on dalit woman at Narkatiaganj, the NDA leaders alleged.
The `failure card’ of Nitish government was released by union minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, former CM and HAM (S) chief Jeetan Ram Manjhi, RLSP chief and junior union minister Upendra Kushwaha, state BJP chief Mangal Pandey, former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Leader of opposition in Bihar assembly Prem Kumar and former minister Nand Kishore Yadav.
