Sitamarhi : Speaker, Bihar legislative assembly, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, on August 16, 2018, inaugurated the five- day (August 16-20) Awadh Thakur Memorial Bihar State Senior Badminton Championship tournament at Janaki Indoor Stadium, Dumra, in Sitamarhi district amid much fanfair.
Chaudhary said that this is a great moment for the district as well as Sitamarhi District Badminton Association. He said that the people would enjoy the five- day mega sports event.
Sitamarhi DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh said that more such sports events will be hosted here so that youth might get inspirations. Altogether 34 district teams are participating at the tournament.
Sitamarhi MP Ram Kumar Sharma, former minister and MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, MLA Ranju Gita, MLC Rameshwar Prasad, SP, Sitamarhi, Vikas Burman and Badminton Association Secretary Sanjiv Bhushan were prominent among those present on the occasion.
