Buxar : Santosh Kumar, an ASI posted at Navanagar police station in Buxar district, was dismissed from the service on April 7, 2020, on the direction of DGP, Bihar, Gupteshwar Pandey, on April 7, 2020, for allegedly posting provocative message on social media against a community.
SHO, Navanagar police station, said that ASI Santosh Kumar had posted on WhatsAPP group ‘Cyber Senani Group’ from his mobile phone on April 5, 2020, a photograph and a message and informed that cache of arms had been recovered from a religious place of the said community.
As the matter came to the knowledge of Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma, a named FIR was lodged with Navanagar police station against ASI Santosh Kumar and two others on his direction. Police arrested the ASI and one of the named accused Shambhu Patel of Sonbarsha and sent them to jail two days ago.
Shambhu Patel had reportedly posted some objectionable message on the Whatspp group created by Sonbarsha police outpost and ASI Santosh Kumar had forwarded them on the WhatsApp group created by Navanagar police station. Buxar SP is also one of the participants of the groups.He noticed it and ordered for lodging of an FIR and arrest of ASI Santosh and other person.
Buxar SP Upendra Nath Verma said that on the direction of DGP Gupteshwar Pandey the ASI was dismissed from the service after thorough inquiry. The SP warned that stern action would be taken against any person found posting wrong message or objectionable items on social medi aunder the Cyber Crime Act.
