Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Bokaro District Swimming Association (BDSA), a unit of Jharkhand Swimming Association (JSA), convened a meeting on May 29, 2019, at DPS Bokaro, Sector IV. Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, was elected president of BDSA for the tenure 2019-24 at the meeting.
BDSA Secretary, Jaideep Sarkar, Treasurer, Mritunjay Sharma, and Working Secretary cum Technical Advisor Rupesh Kumar, who was present at the meeting, welcomed A S Gangwar as the President of BDSA. The meeting also decided to conduct various activities including training and coaching for the promotion of swimming amongst the school students.
Secretary Jaideep informed that ‘Water-Polo’, which is said to be a niche area, may be introduced by BDSA. “A team can be formed for representing the East Zone through BDSA,” he added.
Newly elected President A S Gangwar said that efforts would be made to introduce swimming coaching for the ‘Differently Abled Children’ as a social measure to promote fitness and health amongst them.
Selection Trial for BDSA Team on June 5 at DPS Bokaro : A selection trial will be held at DPS Bokaro Swimming Pool for the selection of the team of Bokaro District Swimming Association that will participate in the 11th State Junior and Sub-Junior Swimming Competition to be held on June 15 & 16, 2019, at Mega Sports Complex Hotwar. The Secretary, BDSA, informed that for participating in the selection trail the players born between 2002 to 2007 will be considered for Junior Boys and Girls while players born between 2008 to 2010 will be considered for Sub-Junior Boys and Girls respectively.
