Sitamarhi : Around a dozen gas filled cylinders kept on a truck parked near a weighing centre ( Dharmkanta) exploded one after another at village Bhanaspatti located on NH77 under Runnisaidpur block of Sitamarhi district on December 16, 2021, morning, triggering panic in the locality.
The gas cylinders exploded after the truck caught fire caused by cooking gas at a gas filling shop located on the premises of weighing centre. The fire was extinguished after the arrival of a fire tender. None was injured in the incident though.
SHO, Runnisaidpur police station, Vijay Yadav, said that the Dharmkanta owner and truck driver were absconding but would be arrested soon. Investigation is underway, the SHO added.
