Ara : Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) passed its annual budget of about Rs 342 crore for the financial year 2018-2019 on February 27, 2018, at a meeting presided over by Mayor Priyam Devi.

The Mayor said that the three out of seven resolution of the CM Nitish Kumar, which are to be executed by the Urban Development department, included in the budged and fund earmarked for them accordingly. She said that Ara town would be made green and clean and LED lights are being installed by EESL company under the corporation area and the company will maintain it for next seven years.

The Mayor said that Holding tax will be fixed by outsourcing online property tax on the basis of GIS map survey. Vending zones will be constructed for the roadside dealers at Pakari Chowk and Bazaar Samiti. A modern children park will be made at Moti Tola while the Veer Kuer Singh Park will be renovated.

The Mayor said that 30% of the budget will be spent on development of slum areas. She said that 8,378 lavatories will be constructed by October 2, 2018, while 35 Community Halls and mobile toilets will be constructed at 12 places by the end of the this year. Drinking water facility will be made available to every household under ‘Amrit Yojana’, the Mayor said. All the drains in Ara town will be made underground and the Bus Stand will be renovated and equipped with latest facilities.
