Ara : Some unidentified miscreants shot at and killed one person and injured two others between Pirauta and Jagwalia villages under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on September 9, 2020, night.
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the two injured there but the doctor referred both of them to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of their critical condition. The deceased was identified as Ranjeet Kumar Razak, son of Ram Babu Rajak, an SSB constable posted at Patna while the injured have been identified as Munna Kumar, son of Shivadhar Gond, and Mukesh Kumar, son of Kanhaiya Chaudhary, of Balbatara locality under Ara Town Police station. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
An FIR has been lodged with t Ara Muffassil police station in this connection and police are investigating the matter. Police conducted raids at a birthday celebration venue at Saraiya under Krishnagarh police station and arrested three persons for interrogation in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, hundreds of activists of the CPI(ML) and local residents on September 10, 2020, blocked the road near Shiv Ganj Durga Temple with the body and paralysing movement of vehicles for about two hours. They burnt tyres and raised slogans against the district administration demanding Rs 20 lakh compensation to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 5 lakh each to the two injured persons. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials.
Ranjeet Kumar Rajak, Munna Kumar, and Mukesh Kumar of Balbatara locality under Ara Town Police Station had gone to Saraiya village under Krishnagarh police station on September 9, 2020, to attend a birthday party there. They were returning on a motorcycle the same night. But, when they reached between Pirauta and Jagwalia villages, some miscreants fired on them in which Raneet Kumar Rajak died on the spot while Mukesh Kumar and Munna Kumar were seriously injured. Later, the miscreants escaped from the place saying that they killed the wrong person as claimed, said injured Munna Kumar at Ara Sadar Hospital.
