Ara : Ara Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit was threatened with dire consequences by a criminal on May 18, 2018, if he dared shift Akhilesh Upadhayay, one of the main accused in the Ara Civil Court bomb blast case along with Lamboo. A named FIR has been lodged with  Ara Town police station against Chhotu Rai but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that the a miscreant posing as Chhotu Rai called Ara Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit and threatened to blow him up if he dared transfer Akhilesh Upadhayay, one of the main accused in the Ara Civil Court bomb blast case, to another jail. The SP said that a person named Chhotu Rai is in Ara jail but it is not confirmed whether the same Chhotu Rai had threatened the Jail Superintendent. He said that police are investigating the matter and hoped that the miscreant would be nabbed very soon.

Ara Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit said that he was threatened with dire consequences and so he informed senior officers including Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar, SP Awakash Kumar and Jail DIG.
