Ara Jail Superintendent suspends Chief Warder

Ara :  Superintendent, Ara Jail, Niranjan Pandit, on March 14, 2018, suspended the Chief Warder of the jail Awadhesh Mochi for dereliction of duty after a video of inmates smoking Ganja and talking on cellphones went viral on the social networking sites. Pandit, in a communication, has requested the Commandant, Homeguards, to shift the rest 19 Warders from Ara jail.

Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar had directed the Jail Superintendent to inquire into matter after the video went viral on the social networking sites.

A video showing inmates of Ara jail smoking Ganja and talking on cellphones had gone viral on the social networking sites on March 9, 2018, that created a ripple in Bhojpur district administration. Jail Superintendent Pandit claimed that the two inmates seen in the video talking on cellphones had been identified and one of them was released on bail a few days back. He said that security inside Ara jail has been tightened further.
