Ara : The Ara jail inmates called off their three-day old indefinite fast n February 8, 2018, following an agreement with the Jail Superintendent Niranjan Kumar Pandey and Deputy Jail Superintendent Mrityunjay on 16 points. The Ara jail inmates allegedly owing allegiance to the CPI (ML) were on indefinite fast for the last three days demanding implementation of the Jail Manual.
Jail Superintendent Niranjan Kumar Pandey said that the demands under the purview of Bhojpur district administration will be implemented with immediate effect and the state government will be informed about the rest of the demands.
The Jail Superintendent said that the statue of the Bhagat Singh will be painted, vigilance committee will be formed at the earliest, wage dues of last 10 months will be cleared within 10 days, bank accounts of the new prisoners will be opened, 24X7 hours presence of doctor in the jail will be ensured and medicine will be made available inside the jail.
Manoj Manjil, State President, Inquilabi Naujawan Sabha, said that non- implementation of Jail Manual was violation of the human rights of the jail inmates.
