Ara : An inmate of Ara jail, Pramod Kumar Singh died under mysterious circumstances on January 13, 2020. He was one of the key accused in Ara Civil Court Bomb blast case.
Superintendent, Ara Jail, Rijwan, said that Pramod Kumar Singh of village Ekwari under Sahar police station was sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment and was also slapped a fine of Rs 40,000 in Ara Civil Court Bomb blast case on January 23, 2015. He said that he was fine on January 12, 2020, night but on January 13 morning he was found senseless. The jail administration rushed him to Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.
On the other hand, family members of the deceased alleged that the jail administration did not provide medical aid to him on time and added that the jail administration poisoned him to death.
A medical team of three doctors was formed to perform the post-mortem of the deceased. The three members medical team performed the post-mortem under the supervision of a magistrate deputed for the purposes at the Ara Sadar Hospital.
