Ara: Additional District and Sessions Judge, VI, Ara, Rajesh Kumar awarded rigorous life imprisonment to 13 persons on November 17 in connection with murder of a person. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on 12 convicts and Rs 12,000 on one convict.

Some armed persons had killed Awadh Yadav of Purushottampur village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district on February 12, 2011. A named FIR was lodged with Shahpur police station against 13 persons:, Bir Bahadur Yadav, Bhikhari Yadav, Bhola Yadav, sons of Shiv Kumar Yadav, Sugandhi Yadav, Bhuar Yadav, Shiv Kumar Yadav, Tuntun Yadav, Saryug Yadav, Yogendra Yadav, Manoj Yadav and Laxman Yadav of the same village.

After hearing both the parties, the court held them guilty and awarded rigorous life imprisonment to them. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on all of them except Laxman Yadav on whom a fine of Rs 12,000 was slapped as it was he who was accused of firing bullet on Awadh Yadav.
